Porto Cervo, October 3, 2026. The second day of racing offered the 17 teams competing in the J/70 Cup and the Italian J/70 Class Championship ideal conditions to complete another three races. With one day remaining in the event, J Curve, owned by YCCS member Mauro Roversi, retains the lead in the provisional standings, followed by CAIM Jeniale, which remains firmly in second place, while Ciclone has moved up to third place.
The starting signal for the first race was originally scheduled for 11:30 AM, but light winds forced a delay. The Race Committee issued the warning signal at 1:00 PM to start the first race and over the course of the day the fleet completed two additional windward-leeward races in steady easterly winds of around 10 knots. With six races now completed, the discard rule that allows the worst result to be dropped has come into effect. Two more races are scheduled for tomorrow, the event’s final day, bringing the total number of races expected to be held to the maximum number of eight planned in the program.

Tenzor Team claimed victory in today's first race, leading the fleet from the initial windward mark to the finish line, followed by Swish and CAIM Jeniale. After finishing fourth in the day's opening race, J Curve bounced back with two consecutive wins in the subsequent races; notably, they staged an impressive comeback in the event’s fifth race, fighting their way up from the back of the fleet to arrive in first place at the finish.
It was also a successful day for CAIM Jeniale, which secured two second place finishes in the day's remaining races, beating out One More Time and Anemology, respectively.
Thanks to today's results, J Curve, the team led by YCCS member Mauro Roversi, holds the overall lead, sitting just two points ahead of CAIM Jeniale. With the final day approaching, the battle for the title remains wide open. The contest for the third spot on the podium is also still undecided, with Ciclone and One More Time currently tied on points.
Racing resumes tomorrow, October 4, with the start signal scheduled for 11 am CEST and a weather forecast predicting Scirocco winds of 10–12 knots, with gusts up to 20 knots. Following the day's racing, the teams will gather at Piazza Azzurra for the final prize-giving ceremony.
