Vela & Golf

Porto Cervo, May 26, 2023. The YCCS sporting season kicks off today with Vela & Golf, the first scheduled regatta which will end on Sunday, May 28th. The event, supported by  Technical Partners Garmin Marine, combines the sports of sailing and golf.

There are six teams registered for the event: Marina Militare (skipper Aurelio De Carolis), Pevero Golf Club (skipper Giancarlo Coiana), Yacht Club Adriaco (skipper Alderico Paganini), Yacht Club Punta Ala (skipper Alessandro Masini) and the Yacht Club de Monaco (skipper Roberto Tamburelli) winners of the 2022 edition. Welcoming the visiting teams will be our own Yacht Club Costa Smeralda team headed by club member German Scarpa and winners of the event in 2021.

This morning, following the closing of entries, the competing teams gathered at the YCCS terrace for the official briefing followed by a Welcoming Brunch.

Starting tomorrow, the teams will compete on the Pevero Golf Club’s course, while on Sunday May 28th they will board the YCCS J/70 fleet for the sailing part of this event. The winner of the event will be the team that obtains the best score calculated by summing the results obtained on the golf course and in the regatta.
