Vela & Golf

Porto Cervo, 17 September 2021. The 15th edition of Vela & Golf, the traditional team event that combines sailing and golf, gets underway today and will run through 19 September.

Six teams are taking part in the event, including the YCCS team (skipper Germano Scarpa), Yacht Club Adriaco (skipper Alderico Paganini), the Marina Militare team representing the Italian Navy (skipper Roberto Desiderato), Yacht Club de Monaco (skipper Adalberto Miani), Yacht Club Punta Ala (skipper Alessandro Masini) and finally, the team from Pevero Golf Club, led by Cristina Novi, winner of the last edition of the event in 2019.

Following the completion of enrolment this morning, the official briefing was held, followed by a welcome brunch for all participants. Competition will begin tomorrow, Saturday 18 September, on the celebrated green of the Pevero Golf Club, while on Sunday 19 the teams will meet on the regatta course off Porto Cervo on board the YCCS’ fleet of J70 yachts. The team with the best combined score from the golfing and sailing competitions will claim victory in the 2021 event.
