One Ocean MBA's Conference and Regatta underway today
Porto Cervo, 20 September 2019. The One Ocean MBA's Conference and Regatta, an event organised by the SDA Bocconi School of Management and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in partnership with the One Ocean Foundation and with the support of Main Partner Audi, got underway today.
This morning participants met in Piazza Azzurra for the skippers briefing before taking to the water. The Open Class - composed of 14 crews sailing on board J/24 boats - completed two windward-leeward races on the regatta course off Porto Cervo, while the Offshore and Cruise divisions raced on a coastal course with winds of 12 to 14 knots from the east. From the starting line the teams headed to the Monaci islet, which they rounded to port before sailing to a mark located near the Secca di Tre Monti rock, concluding the course just outside the Bisce Island strait.
In the Open Class, MIP leads the ranking with two races won, followed by the US MIT SLOAN School of Management and Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, respectively second and third in the provisional classification on equal points.
In the Offshore Class Harvard Business Schoo leads ahead of Rotterdam School of Management and Chicago Booth School of Business.
In the largest division, the Cruise category, the team from the MIP School of Management claimed the victory of the day. Second place went to SDA BOCCONI School of Management and third to SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management.
Tomorrow, 21 September, following the racing the much-awaited conference entitled Why future leaders need to face sustainability challenges is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m.
