Invitational Smeralda 888 -

Porto Cervo, 12 July 2019. Competition gets underway today in the Invitational Smeralda 888 event. Organised by the YCCS and valid as a leg of the class circuit, the regatta makes a return after the previous edition in 2013 and will conclude on Sunday 14 July.

The six teams enrolled will face three days of coastal races. Adalberto Miani & Francesco Vauban on Botta Dritta will look to repeat their recent success in the Coppa Europa Smeralda 888 and will be up against Mascalzone Latino (Achille Onorato), Beda (Timifey Sukhotin), Bear Essentials (Ian Ilsley), Black Star (Paolo Rotelli) and Millenium Falcon (Marco Favale).

Following today’s official Briefing and Welcome Brunch at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda the participating teams gathered on the regatta course for the first warning signal at 2.30 p.m.
