YCCS Members Results in NYYC, 52 Super Series and Melges 24 regattas
Porto Cervo, 21 July 2019. In addition to the 12 Metre World Championship title recently claimed at the helm of Nyala (owned by Patrizio Bertelli), YCCS sporting member Mauro Pelaschier has also taken victory in the NYYC 175th Anniversary Regatta in Newport in the 12 Metre Vintage division, with an incredible run of nine wins out of nine races held.
In the same regatta YCCS member Tony Langley placed second in the IRC 1 class at the helm of his TP52 Gladiator, flying the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda colours. The YCCS is one of only four yacht clubs in the world whose members were invited to take part in the NYYC Anniversary Regatta.
Azzurra, the TP52 owned by YCCS members the Roemmers family, has moved to the top of the provisional classification in the 52 Super Series after concluding the latest leg in Cascais, Portugal in second place. Quantum Racing owned by YCCS member Doug DeVos won the event, just one point clear of Azzurra. Quantum’s crew also included YCCS member Federico Michetti. The TP52 Provezza owned by member Ergin Imre also took part in the event in Cascais.
Member Andrea Pozzi placed third in Scarlino at Act 3 of the Italian Melges 24 Championship in the gulf of Follonica.
The YCCS congratulates all its competing members.
