Porto Cervo, 26 May 2019. The YCCS congratulates our members for their participation and the results obtained at the Menorca 52 Super Series Sailing Week, the Melges 20 World League and the GC32 Racing Tour.

The first stage of the TP52 circuit ended yesterday in Mahon, where four boats owned by YCCS members competed. After five days of racing and eight hard-fought races run, Quantum Racing owned by member Doug DeVos finished in third place overall, following in fourth place was Azzurra, the boat flying the YCCS flag owned by members the Roemmers family. Also participating were Vladimir Liubomirov at the helm of Bronenosec and Tony Langley, owner of Gladiator.

The next event in the circuit will be held in Puerto Sherry, in the heart of the Bay of Cadiz (Spain), from 18 to 22 June.

The second Melges 20 event taking place in Puntaldia ended today. The fleet of 23 teams included members Pietro Loro Piana on Gone Squatching, which finished in sixth place, level on points with the fourth and fifth-placed boats, Franco Loro Piana on Sease which placed twelfth, and Valentin Zavadnikov, owner of the vessel Synergy in fourteenth position. Light wind conditions meant that racing only took place on Saturday and Sunday, with four races held.

The next appointment for the Melges 20 fleet will be from 14 to 16 June in Scarlino in Tuscany.

The GC32 Racing Tour concluded with 16 races held and with member Ernesto Bertarelli, at the helm of Alinghi, on the second step of the podium. The fleet will gather again on 26 June in Lagos in Portugal to compete for their world championship.

The YCCS wishes sporting member Daniele Nanni fair winds as he leaves tomorrow from Marseilles for the Mini Med where he will face 500 miles of solo sailing.
