Carlo Borlenghi, an international icon in maritime and sailing photography, has passed away. For more than 40 years, his unique vision captured the world of regattas and its leading figures.
His connection with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda dated back to the Azzurra challenge for the America’s Cup in 1983 and continued over the years through his photography of the most important regattas organised by the Club. His images have made an indelible contribution to building and preserving the sporting heritage of the YCCS and adding to the collective memory of a wider audience, bringing together professionalism, artistic sensitivity and a deep passion for sailing and the sea. In June, Carlo came to the YCCS for the return of the Sardinia Cup, attending the launch of the photographic exhibition dedicated to historic editions of the regatta.
The entire Yacht Club Costa Smeralda extends its deepest sympathies to his wife Alessandra, the team at Studio Borlenghi and all those close to Carlo.
