Porto Cervo, 15 May 2026. The traditional Vela & Golf event gets underway this morning, celebrating its 20th edition this year. The competition, a perfect blend of sailing and golf, is scheduled to run from today through Sunday, 17 May.

Eight crews have entered, including a team representing the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, led by member Germano Scarpa.  Also taking part is the Yacht Club de Monaco, skippered by Roberto Tamburelli, who will be looking to defend the title claimed last year. Making their debut at the event are teams from the Yacht Club Italiano, skippered by Alessandra Dubbini, and the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein, led by skipper Lysander Winter. Rounding out the fleet are: the Marina Militare team representing the Italian Navy (skipper Aurelio de Carolis), Pevero Golf Club (skipper Tommaso Carpaneto), Yacht Club Adriatico (skipper Alderico Paganini), and Yacht Club Punta Ala (skipper Alessandro Masini).
 
Tomorrow, 16 May, Pevero Golf Club will provide the setting for the competition on the green, with crews taking to the waters off Porto Cervo the following day for racing aboard the YCCS’ fleet of J/70 boats.

The winning team will be adjudicated by the sum of the results achieved in the two disciplines, with victory in the 20th edition of Vela e Golf going to the crew with the lowest overall score.
