The 2021 edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup was a very special one indeed, filled with enthusiasm and dedication on the part of the organisers and partners of the event, and above all from the many sailors who took part. A great 31st edition, as confirmed by the strong fleet of 44 yachts enrolled, bringing the cutting edge of naval architecture and world-renowned sailors to the docks of Porto Cervo once again. One year on from the cancellation dictated by the pandemic in 2020, a week of superb sailing took place from 5 to 11 September. The tacking duel between the J Class yachts Velsheda and Topaz in the famous “Bomb Alley” will go down in the annals, as will the hard-fought battles between the Maxi 72 boats, racing in the warm end-of-summer sun. Amidst the smiles and applause of the final day, the winners in their respective divisions were: Velsheda (Supermaxi), Magic Carpet 3 (Maxi), Cannonball (Mini Maxi 1), Capricorno (Mini Maxi 2) and Lyra (Mini Maxi 3-4).

It was a grand meet-up at sea and ashore, as documented by the images in this portfolio dedicated to the 31st edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.
