VENUE
The venue will
be in Porto Cervo - Sardinia - Italy.
3.
ENTRIES
Members of the
following Yacht Clubs are invited to submit
entries to compete in the Smeralda 888 European
Cup:
Gstaad Yacht Club
- New York Yacht Club - Royal Yacht Squadron
- Yacht Club de Monaco - Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.
Participants from
Yacht Club Monaco have to sail on their own
Smeralda 888. YCCS will assure free moorings
and support for hauling and launching the boats.
Each team shall
consist of skipper and two or three crew persons
per boat. The skippers must be member of the
club they represent. Crew members must be members
or guests of members of the Club they represent.
Some Smeralda 888 and sails will be provided
by the YCCS.
There will be an
entry fee of Euro 500 per team to cover race-related
costs, insurance and some social functions.
All skippers are
required to provide a Euro 500 damage deposit
prior to start the races. The deposit will be
reimbursed at the end of the event.

May, 2005 together with the non refundable entry
fee of Euro 500 per Team.
The entry fee can
be paid by Credit Card (VISA or MASTERCARD)
or by bank transfer. If the payment is made
by bank transfer, a copy of the transfer confirmation
is to accompany the entry form. Please make

RULES
The
races will be governed by the Racing Rules of
Sailing 2005-2008 (RRS),
including the Notice of Race and the rules of
the Smeralda 888 Class Association, except as
modified by this Notice of Race and the Sailing
Instructions when issued.
All Competitors
are solely responsible for the safety of his/her
boats and themselves and the decision whether
or not to start or to continue to race is
each team member's responsibility and not
that of Yacht Club Costa Smeralda or any other
individual or entity.
6. RACES
Teams from
each club will race together in fleet races,
scheduled for Saturday 4th June and Sunday 5th.
Three races per day may take place.
7.
BOATS AND CREWS
7.1
The regatta will be sailed on the
Smeralda 888 Class boats.
7.2
The number of crew (including the
skipper) shall be either 3 or 4 within the total
crew weight of 320 kg. All registered crew shall
sail all races.
7.3
When a registered skipper is unable
to continue in the event the Jury or Organising
Authority may authorise an original crew member
to substitute.
When a registered crew member is unable to continue
in the event, the Jury or Organising Authority
may authorise a substitute, a temporary substitute
or other adjustment.
7.3
The registered skipper shall
helm the yacht at all times while racing, except
in an emergency.

9.
PRIZES
The
YCCS will award prizes to the 1st , 2nd and
3rd Classified boat for the series
10.
RACING AREA
The
racing area will be in the waters outside the
Marina of Porto Cervo. Spectators are encouraged.
11.
BORROWED BOATS
Every effort should
be made to avoid damage to hulls, rigging and
sails. Any damage not
covered by insurance will be the responsibility
of the skipper. Deductibles may be the responsibility
of the skipper of the boat determined to be
at fault; either by accepting a penalty or by
finding of the jury.
Crews will not be allowed to make any adjustments
to standing rigging or to replace any running
rigging or sails unless 1) damaged and 2) approved
by the jury.
12.
SPINNAKERS
Spinnakers
and genoas may be excluded by the Race Committee.
13.
COURSES
Courses
will be Windward-Leeward courses.
14.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The
sailing instructions will be available at the
YCCS Race Office upon final registration.
