17 June 2007
Teams from the Gstaad, Monaco and New York yacht clubs competed in three days of fleet racing on windward-leeward and coastal courses during the Coppa Europa Smeralda 888 2007.
Representing the YCCS were Vittorio Codecasa together with Danilo Salsi (division winner of the Sydney-Hobart with his Swan 45 “DSK”). After three days of hard-fought regattas, victory in the Coppa Europa went to “Out of Reach”, helmed by Guido Miani, racing with the colours of the Yacht Club Monaco. Miani, with Furio Benussi, Philippe Buchard and Yves le Marchand on board, gave an impressive performance with five first places over seven regattas raced. Prince Carlo of Borbon’s “Vamos mi Amor” took second place (again for Yacht Club Monaco) while third place went to “Another Affair”, helmed by Paul Basson.

| LYRICAL
EVENING |
Date:
15 August 2005
| The
lyrical evening at the Club
on Sunday 14th August provided
"an incredible journey
through opera, operetta and
musical", thanks to the
talented artists who, accompanied
on the piano by Maestro Riccardo
Leone, regaled the audience
with moving and memorable performances.
Verdi, Puccini and Rossini,
one after another Othello's
Desdemona, the Barber of Seville's
Bertha and Puccini's Edgar materialized,
before giving way to Jesus Christ
Superstar and Gershwin's dreamy
Summertime via Walt Disney's
charming Cinderella, not forgetting,
of course, "I could have
danced all night" from
"My Fair Lady". Once
again this year this splendid
production was directed by Daniele
Rubboli. |

The first edition of the

little less windy! |
