Founded: Established in 1967 by His Highness the Aga Khan and a small group of founding members with the aim of bringing together nautical sports enthusiasts and sea lovers, and promoting and organizing artistic, cultural and scientific initiatives.
Location: The enchanting village of Porto Cervo, on the coast of Sardinia, in the Mediterranean Sea. Overlooking Piazza Azzurra and dominating the New Marina, the Clubhouse provides breathtaking views of the harbor and dramatic sunsets over the Mediterranean.
Members: Currently over 400, consisting of top international yachtsmen and women and key names form the business and high-finance worlds as well as those who simply love the sea.
Architecture: Following a recent architectural redesign and interior renovation project designed by New York-based Peter Marino Architects, the YCCS Clubhouse is one of the most beautiful and functional structures of its kind in the world. New amenities include 24 guest suites, a modern fitness center and a bar and restaurant on the panoramic poolside terrace.
Related Clubs: twinned with the Yacht Club de Monaco and the New York Yacht Club, the YCCS has a reciprocal agreement with the Royal Yacht Squadron of Cowes and has collaborative sporting relationships with the Gstaad Yacht Club (Switzerland), the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein di Amburgo (Germany), with Casa di Campo Yacht Club (Dominican Republic) and with the Yacht Club di Capri.

Art Collections: Presented by His Highness the Aga Khan, the three collections are composed of precious antique nautical maps, beautiful ivory models and nautical paintings, mainly featuring America’s Cup regattas, including works by Steven Dews, Stephen Renard and David Brackman.
Sailing School: Offers five different levels of sailing courses on a weekly basis to children and adults, novices an experts.
Open to the Public: Wellness and fitness center, sailing school and the shops, bars and restaurants of the Piazza Azzurra, which becomes the heart of the Race Village during regattas and hosts a series of cultural events throughout the rest of the year. |
