The YCCS Sailing school has been organizing courses on dinghies and cabin cruisers at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, Sardinia for the past 30 years. The School is recognized by the Federazione Italiana Vela (Italian National Sailing Federation) and is directed by the FIV national instructor Franco Pistone who is assisted by qualified staff and experienced sailors. All theory lessons take place at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Clubhouse in Porto Cervo. Practical lessons set off from the nearby Giglio beach: a picturesque spot with a safe navigational canal for entry and exit.

Each course lasts 6 days.
- Dinghy courses begin on Monday mornings
- J 24 courses begin on Sunday mornings
A typical schedule is:
10.00 am > Theory lesson
10.45 am > Preparation and launch at sea
01.15 pm > Return to the beach or harbour
01.30 pm > Lesson ends J 24 Courses follow the same structure but finish at 2 pm.
The fleet is continually expanding and now counts more than 30 boats between cabin cruisers and dinghies. Dinghies: 3 new FIV 555 large planning skiffs; 7 Laser Picos, ideal for children of up to 12 years; 9 Lasers; 3 Lasers Twos Two Cabin cruisers: 4 J24 monotype boats, 24 feet with a single cabin; J105, a fast and fun boat with a large gennaker.
